A T8.330 spends its working life pulling heavy implements and big trailers, and the wear shows up in predictable places. The drawbar takes the knocks, air brake connector heads get crushed when coupling up, and the locking pin of a piton hitch slowly wears oval. For the rear hitch there are automatic drawbars, automatic hitch jaws, flange hitches, Piton Fix pins, top drawbars and trailer couplings. Adapter plates let you bolt a coupling onto the rail, so a worn jaw can be replaced on its own rather than rebuilding the whole assembly.
Before ordering, measure the width of the hitch rail and the diameter of the locking pin on the part you are taking off. Those two dimensions decide whether a new drawbar or piton slides into the rail and locks. With an adapter plate, also check the bolt pattern of the flange against the coupling that will sit on it. If the lock does not drop fully into place, do not pull a load until it does.
Engine side, there are injection lines, temperature sensors, seal kits and tank caps, including caps for the cooling system. When you change an injection line, plug the open ports straight away, because a speck of dirt in the injection system costs far more than the line itself. In the cab, new gas struts cure windows and hatches that will not stay open, and there are aircon compressors for the climate system. Steering cylinders complete the list for the front axle.
Connector heads on the air brake lines are easy to overlook. Once the rubber seal inside a head has cracked or the dust flap has gone, grit finds its way into the trailer brake line. A new head takes minutes to fit. Gas struts are another quick job: struts that share a window or hatch should be replaced as a pair so both sides push equally and the hinge stays true.
The serial plate confirms that the machine is a T8.330 rather than another model in the T8 series.
