Servicing your New Holland T4.85 starts with the right part. Choose from more than 150 items for the T4 series, such as trailer couplings, electrics and brakes.
When an injector has to come out of a New Holland T4.85, or the clutch starts to judder, you want the right part first time. This page lists more than 150 new parts that fit the T4.85, from GRANIT, ROCKINGER, LUK, Scharmüller and Eaton.
For the engine there are O-rings for the injection nozzles, a temperature sensor and a differential pressure sensor. On the electrical side you will find an alternator, contact switches and work lamps. Seal kits and sealing rings, such as the one for the lift arm shaft, are also available.
Whenever an injection nozzle is removed, fit new O-rings and seals before it goes back in. A used ring has taken a set and will not seal again, which lets combustion gas or fuel past. Clean the bore in the cylinder head carefully so no carbon falls into the cylinder, and cover the open hole while you work. Lubricate the new O-ring with a little clean engine oil so it does not tear on the way in, and tighten the clamp evenly to the specified torque.
The T4.85 belongs to the New Holland T4 series. Note the model and serial number on the type plate, then look for a reference number on the old part. For a clutch plate, check the outer diameter and the number of hub splines too. Springs come in left and right versions.
The differential pressure sensor reads a pressure difference through two small hoses. If the tractor throws a fault that points at it, check those hoses first. A cracked, loose or blocked hose gives exactly the same fault as a failed sensor. With the temperature sensor, check the plug for corrosion before you replace it, and only remove it with the engine cold.
Each of these tractors has its own page with the parts confirmed for that model:
