There is no need to hunt down parts for the New Holland T7040 one by one. This page bundles more than 250 items for the T7000 series, such as lighting.
The T7040 is a tractor people spend long days in, so the parts list starts in the cab and works its way back to the hitch. There are more than 250 parts for this model on this page, from GRANIT, Scharmüller, ROCKINGER, Sauermann and GRAMMER.
For the cab there are air suspended tractor seats, including GRAMMER models. If an air seat slowly sinks, it is losing air somewhere. Raise it fully and brush soapy water over the bellows and hose connections. Where it bubbles, you have the leak. A seat compressor that keeps cutting in points the same way. Only when the bellows itself is worn out does a new seat make sense.
There are also mirrors and rocker switches, such as the switch for raising and lowering the rear linkage. A switch that no longer springs back cleanly makes precise linkage work awkward, and replacing it takes a few minutes.
For the rear there are automatic drawbars, top drawbars, automatic hitches, Piton Fix hitches and height adjustable adapter plates, plus parts for trailers with forced steering. Set the adapter plate so that the trailer drawbar runs as level as possible. That spares the hitch and keeps the trailer steadier behind the tractor on the road.
On the electrical side there are alternators, LED work lamps and oil pressure switches, for example for the steering. The transmission oil temperature sensor is available too. If the warning light comes on while the oil level is fine and the tractor works normally, check the sensor plug and wiring before looking further. Seal kits and tank caps complete the list.
If the charge light comes on or battery voltage drops, check the belt tension and the cables on the alternator before ordering a new one. A slipping belt or a loose earth cable gives exactly the same symptoms. Measure the voltage across the battery terminals with the engine running and you will quickly know whether the alternator is still charging.
The type plate gives you the model and chassis number. On the old part, look for the reference number: on an alternator it is on its own plate, on a drawbar or Piton Fix it is often stamped into the steel. For drawbars and adapter plates, measure the rail width as well.
The T7000 series has more models with their own page: the New Holland T7030, New Holland T7050, New Holland T7060 and New Holland T7070. If you run more than one of them, always use the page for the tractor you are working on. For the rest of the New Holland range, head to New Holland parts.
