Planning maintenance on a New Holland TD5040? More than 200 parts for this TD5000 series tractor are listed here, from trailer couplings to brake parts.
A TD5040 that judders when pulling away, or whose clutch only bites at the very top of the pedal, is telling you the driveline needs attention. This page brings together more than 200 replacement parts that fit this New Holland, made by GRANIT and by specialists such as LUK, Eaton, ROCKINGER and GRAMMER.
On the clutch side there are organic clutch plates, double clutch pressure plates, complete clutch kits, thrust bearings for the driving clutch and a replacement clutch cable. For the transmission you will find gear wheels and a PTO input shaft. If the tractor is already split, renew the piston sealing rings and the lift shaft seal while you are there, because reaching them later is no small job.
A workshop tip for the clutch plate: count the splines on the old plate and check the outside diameter before fitting the new one. Always replace the thrust bearing as well, since getting back to it means splitting the tractor again. While everything is apart, look at the flywheel face. Scoring or blue heat marks mean it should be skimmed before the new plate goes on.
At the rear, much of the wear comes from hitching up. There are automatic drawbars from ROCKINGER and Piton Fix parts for the rail, so a worn pin or hook can be replaced on its own. In the cab, a GRAMMER Compacto seat gives the driver proper support again. Ball joints for the steering, gaskets and radiator caps complete the picture.
Radiator caps are easy to overlook. Once the seal inside hardens, the cooling system can no longer hold pressure and coolant slowly disappears. If your TD5040 runs hot without a visible leak, a new cap is the first and simplest thing to try.
The ball joints deserve a look now and then as well. A split dust boot lets in water and grit, and the joint can be worn out within a season. Replace such a joint complete with its boot and reset the toe-in afterwards. Before swapping the seat, check the bolt pattern on the old mounting so the Compacto seat drops into place without drilling.
Check the type plate to confirm the machine really is a TD5040, and use the reference number stamped or printed on the old part when comparing clutch plates or gears. The TD5040 belongs to the New Holland TD5000 series. Its sister models have pages of their own, one for the New Holland TD5010 and one for the New Holland TD5020, each showing only the parts for that model. For every other model from the brand, start at New Holland parts.
