New Holland TVT170 due for maintenance? Select what you need from more than 250 matching parts, from trailer couplings to electrics and lighting.
A TVT170 is often the tractor that does the heavy pulling and the long road runs. The parts that need attention first reflect that: the hitch, the switches, the seat and the engine belts. More than 250 parts fit the TVT170, from GRANIT, Scharmüller, ROCKINGER, Carraro and GRAMMER.
For the engine there are V-belts, an alternator and gaskets, including one for the water pump. O-rings for the oil filler cap, seals and sealing rings are listed as well. When you fit a new V-belt, look at the pulley grooves too. A worn or polished groove will make a new belt slip and squeal. Check the tension again after the first few hours, because a new belt beds in and stretches slightly.
Cab parts include air suspended GRAMMER tractor seats with cloth trim. Switches are available separately, such as dashboard rocker switches for the work lights and push button switches, for example for lowering the front linkage. Gas struts for the bonnet keep it propped up while you work on the engine.
The rear end is covered by drawbars, top drawbars, Piton Fix pins and adapter plates, among them a height adjustable adapter plate. Carraro supplies parts for the front axle, and ball joints are listed for the steering.
A worn ball joint shows up as a delay between turning the wheel and the tractor responding, and on the road the front starts to wander. Get a helper to swing the wheel left and right while you keep your fingers on the joint. If it knocks or moves before the wheel turns, it is due. After fitting a new ball joint, have the toe-in checked. On a Piton Fix, keep the pin and the latch clean and lightly greased, especially after winter work on salted roads. A tractor seat that bottoms out on every bump needs either its air suspension checked or replacing altogether.
Check the serial plate to confirm the tractor is a TVT170, since models across the TVT series are easy to confuse. Then compare the number on the old part with the reference number listed with the product. With switches this is especially useful, as many look the same from the front but do a different job.
