For the Case IH 5130, also known as the IHC 5130, we have lined up more than 80 parts, including brake and transmission parts, electrics and lighting.
You may also know it as the IHC 5130. This page lists more than 80 Case IH 5130 tractor parts, with a clear emphasis on the transmission and air conditioning. Brands are Eaton, GRANIT, HELLA, MAHLE and Cobo.
If you are opening up the gearbox, there are gear wheels, shafts, hubs, cones, thrust washers, washers, gaskets and even transmission housings. During an overhaul it pays to renew the thrust washers every time, even if they look reasonable. They control the end float of the gears, and a worn washer lets a gear move just enough to start whining. Lay every part out in the order it came out and take photos before you go further.
For the air conditioning there are compressors in several versions and line pressure switches with union nut, connection cable and plug. If the compressor will not engage, check the pressure switch first, since it cuts the compressor deliberately when refrigerant is low. After replacing a compressor, have the system evacuated and recharged with the correct amount of refrigerant and oil.
You will also find relays with holder, alternators, round reflectors, tank caps and gas struts for the steering column. A tank cap that no longer seals lets dirt and moisture into the fuel, so replace it once its seal turns hard or cracked.
If the adjustable steering column on the 5130 no longer stays put or the wheel slowly sinks, the steering gas strut has had its day. Fit the new strut with the rod pointing down so the internal seal stays bathed in oil and the strut lasts longer, and check the ball studs it mounts on for wear while you are there. For charging there are alternators. Always disconnect the battery before swapping one, because a short on the heavy charge cable happens faster than you would think. The relays with holder are useful when you add extra lights, as the cab switch then no longer carries the full current and is far less likely to burn out. Mount a relay dry, with its terminals facing down, so water cannot collect in the base. Round red reflectors at the rear are quick to replace and worth keeping intact for road work.
The serial number on the type plate and the reference number on the old part settle most doubts, especially with transmission parts where small differences matter. The Case IH 5140 has its own page with parts for that model. For other tractors from the brand, see Case IH parts.
