Case IH 624 parts

Plenty of farmers still call it the IHC 624, and that is the name you will see on many of its parts. A Case IH 624 that has spent decades on the farm often needs more than a service: lights, fenders and brakes all want attention before it goes back on the road. This page has more than 200 parts for the 624, many of them marked for McCormick and IHC.

Brakes and the brake housing seal

Brake discs and sealing rings for the brake housing are both available for this tractor, and they belong together. If oil has reached the discs, they will never grip properly again, so replace the sealing ring whenever you renew the discs. Clean the housing thoroughly, check the shaft where the seal runs for a groove, and press the new ring in squarely. Then adjust the brakes so both sides pull evenly.

Lights, fenders and finishing touches

For a tidy restoration you will find indicator and position lights, rear fenders, emblems and a tractormeter. HELLA is among the brands for lighting, and GRAMMER and METARO also appear on this page alongside GRANIT.

Engine, clutch and steering

  • Clutch plates and thrust bearings, with LUK among the makers
  • Connecting rod bearings for an engine rebuild
  • Camshaft gaskets, engine O-rings and fuel pump seals
  • Fuel filters and radiator hoses
  • Ball joints for the steering linkage

Making sure the part fits

Read the model and serial number from the type plate first. On an older tractor, parts may have been swapped over the years, so do not rely on the model name alone. Compare the reference number or the size of the old bearing or seal with the item on this page. That check matters on the IHC 624 more than on a newer tractor.

Clutch work

If you have split the tractor for a new clutch plate, always fit a new thrust bearing as well. It is a small part, and nobody wants to split a tractor twice. Inspect the flywheel face for hot spots and cracks, and use an alignment tool when bolting the clutch up so the gearbox shaft slides home without force. A thin smear of grease on the splines is enough. Fuel filters are worth changing at the same time on a tractor of this age, as old tanks collect dirt.
