Keep your Case IH 845 XL, also known as the IHC 845 XL, running with more than 350 parts such as trailer couplings, lighting and classic tractor parts.
Plenty of farmers still call it the IHC 845 XL, while newer paperwork names it the Case IH 845 XL. It is the same tractor, and under either name you will find the same set of more than 350 parts here. They are new replacement parts from makers including GRANIT, GRAMMER, HELLA, ROCKINGER and Walterscheid.
Spend a full day on an 845 XL and you will know what a good seat is worth. There are complete tractor seats, including air suspended models from Maximo and PROBOSS, some with a seat heater. Before ordering, look under your current seat and measure the spacing of the mounting holes so the new one bolts onto the console without any bodging.
Elsewhere in the cab there are gas struts for the door, rocker switches and separate symbols for the switch faces. A door that will not stay open is nearly always down to a tired gas strut.
On the engine side it is all about gaskets and seals. That covers the thermostat housing gasket, crankshaft seals, sealing rings and O-rings, for example the one for the feed pump. There are also water pumps for when coolant weeps from the pump or the bearing starts to drone.
When you change the water pump, never refit it on the old gasket, and clean the mating faces properly with a scraper without scoring the aluminium. Renew the coolant while you are at it. If the old coolant shows rust or sludge, flush the system first or the new pump will wear faster than it should.
If the clutch slips under load or only bites right at the top of the pedal, the clutch plate is usually worn. Once the tractor is split, look at the rear crankshaft seal as well. A little oil on the new plate and you are back to square one, while that seal is only a small part.
On a tractor of this age the old part is often the best guide. Gaskets, pumps and bearings frequently carry a reference number. The thermostat gasket, for example, is marked 74702038. Compare that number with the item and you will know whether it fits. Also check the plate to make sure you really have an 845 XL and not the standard Case IH 845, which has its own page.
The 845 XL belongs to the same family as the Case IH 553, Case IH 624, Case IH 654 and Case IH 824. Engine parts, switches and wear items are often shared across that group, so if you run more than one of them you will find the rest there quickly. All other models are under Case IH parts.
