More than 250 parts fit the Case IH 885, which you may know as the IHC 885. You will find lighting and steering parts here, along with vintage tractor parts.
Plenty of farmers still know it as the IHC 885, and plenty of them still have one working. This page gathers more than 250 parts that fit the Case IH 885, from GRANIT, HELLA, ZF, LUK and VICTOR REINZ.
Older tractors tend to start losing coolant or oil before anything else. For the cooling system there are thermostat gaskets, thermostats, radiator hoses such as the bypass hose and repair sets for the water pump. On the engine you will find O-rings for the feed pump, crankshaft seal sets, piston ring sets and individual sealing rings, which together cover the gaskets and rings needed for an engine overhaul.
If the steering on your 885 feels vague, have someone rock the steering wheel back and forth while you hold a hand over each ball joint. A joint that knocks or moves before the wheels respond is worn. Replace both joints on the same rod where possible and have the toe-in checked afterwards, otherwise the front tyres will wear unevenly.
A worn universal joint in a drive shaft usually announces itself with a clunk when pulling away or changing direction. Grip the shaft and twist it against its normal rotation. If you feel play between the yokes, the joint needs replacing. Grease the new joint through its nipple until fresh grease appears at every cap.
Old rear lights often suffer from corroded contacts, so clean the sockets and plugs when you fit a new light.
The serial number is on the type plate. On a tractor of this age it pays to check the number on the old part too, since something may well have been swapped over the years. For a clutch plate, count the splines and measure the hub before you order.
The other models in the 85 series each have a page listing what fits that particular tractor:
