Does your Case IH CX 100 need a new part? The more than 250 items for the CX series include plenty of electrics, as well as trailer couplings and lighting.
Many faults on a Case IH CX 100 trace back to small parts rather than big ones. A rocker switch that stops working, a relay that sticks or a potentiometer sending the wrong signal can stop work just as surely as a mechanical failure. This page holds more than 250 replacement parts that fit the CX 100, from GRANIT, HELLA, ROCKINGER, MAHLE, Walterscheid and others.
For the dashboard there are rocker switches, such as the one for the front PTO, along with rotary switches, relays and potentiometers. Switch symbols, including the hazard light symbol, are here too, and so is a starter motor.
A quick way to test a suspect relay is to swap it with an identical relay from a circuit that works. If the fault moves with the relay, you have found the culprit. With rocker switches, also check the plug behind the dash, since a loose or corroded connection often causes the same symptoms.
Play in the steering usually starts at the ball joints and axial joints. Have someone rock the steering wheel back and forth while you hold each joint. A knock or movement inside the joint itself means it needs replacing. A torn rubber boot is another warning sign, because dirt and water will wear the joint out quickly.
At the rear you will find a drawbar and pins for the three-point linkage.
Check the type plate to make sure the tractor is a CX 100. Switches and relays usually carry a number on the housing, so compare that with the details listed for the item before you order.
A potentiometer reads a position, such as that of a lever, and passes it on as a signal. If a function starts to respond erratically, or the reading jumps without anything being moved, wear inside the potentiometer is a likely cause. A multimeter on the resistance range while you move the lever slowly will show it.
The smaller models in the series each have their own page: Case IH CX 90, Case IH CX 80 and Case IH CX 70. That is useful if more than one CX works on your farm. For every Case IH model in one place, go to Case IH parts.
