From electrics to trailer couplings and lighting: more than 250 parts are listed here for the Case IH CX 80. Useful when you want to search by model.
A cab door that will not stay open, a front PTO switch that needs two presses, steering that has grown vague. On an older CX 80 the jobs are often small but they wear on you. This page lists more than 250 parts for the Case IH CX 80, with makes including GRANIT, HELLA, MAHLE, ROCKINGER and Walterscheid.
On the dashboard there are rocker switches, for example for the front PTO, along with rotary switches and symbol inserts such as the hazard light symbol. Behind the panels, relays and potentiometers are available, and a replacement starter motor is there for when the engine will not turn over.
Ball joints and axial joints take the slack out of the steering. Engine side, you will find sealing rings including the front crankshaft seal, and O-rings. Three point linkage pins complete the list.
An axial joint sits further in than a regular ball joint and is harder to check. Grip the track rod near the joint and push it lengthways. If you feel a clunk, the axial joint is worn. Renew a split boot at the same time and have the toe in reset afterwards. If a dashboard function drops out, swap its relay for an identical one from the same fuse box first. If that cures it, a new relay is the answer.
Take the type and serial number from the type plate first. For switches and relays, the reference number on the housing and the plug shape tell you most. For a ball joint, length is only part of the story, the thread and the taper matter just as much. Measure the old joint once it is out and check those figures against the product details.
Gas strut tip: where a door or window has two struts, replace both together or it will pull crooked. Fit each strut with the rod pointing down so the internal seal stays lubricated and the strut lasts longer.
The Case IH CX 70, Case IH CX 90 and Case IH CX 100 each have a dedicated page with the parts listed for that tractor. To see the whole make, go to Case IH parts.
