Once the worn part is off the tractor, look for a stamped or cast reference number and compare it with the details on the product page. On a torsion damper, counting the teeth on the hub is the quickest check at the bench.
If your Maxxum 100 runs hotter than usual under heavy draft work, check the viscous fan clutch. Switch off a fully warm engine and turn the fan by hand. If it spins on freely for several turns, the clutch is no longer locking up and the radiator is starved of air. Inspect the multi-rib belt at the same time, because a glazed or cracked belt causes the same symptoms.
Ball joints wear gradually, so it pays to check them now and then. Have someone rock the steering wheel while you hold a hand on the joint. A knock or movement before the wheels respond means it is due. A torn rubber boot lets water in, so replace a joint with a split boot before it starts to knock.
