A squealing multi-rib belt on a cold start is often the first sign that the belt or tensioner on a Puma 140 needs replacing. This page carries more than 250 new replacement parts for the tractor, from GRANIT, Scharmüller, ROCKINGER, GRAMMER, Cobo and others.
There is a belt kit that includes the tensioner, plus a separate multi-rib belt for the air brake system. Take a photo of the belt routing before removing the old one, it saves time when fitting the new belt. Change the tensioner in the same job, because a weak tensioner lets a new belt slip as well. Once it is on, rotate the crankshaft by hand through a couple of turns and watch that the ribs sit squarely in every pulley groove.
For cooling there are sealing rings for the water pump, and for the fuel tank a new tank cap. A cap that no longer seals lets dirt and moisture into the diesel.
A lot on the Puma depends on electronics, and one failed sensor can stop a function completely. Among the parts here is a transmission sensor for the PTO. If the PTO will not engage or drops out, check the sensor plug and cable for moisture and chafing first. Push button switches, mirrors and a hydraulic cylinder are also listed.
A tank cap seems minor, but water in the diesel can quickly cause expensive damage to a modern high pressure injection system. Check the seal on the cap now and then and replace it once the rubber shows cracks. On the hydraulic cylinder, wipe dirt off the rod before retracting it so the wiper seal is not damaged.
At the back you can fit automatic drawbars, drawbar frames, adapter plates, drawbar kits and the Scharmüller Piton Fix system. In the cab, a GRAMMER Maximo tractor seat or an air suspended PROBOSS seat can replace a worn one.
Start from the type plate on your tractor. If the old part has a reference number, compare it with the number given on the product. With belts, also count the ribs on the old one.
