When a Puma 145 starts to feel down on pulling power, or the temperature gauge creeps up on heavy work, the cause is often a simple part in the engine bay. They are aftermarket parts rather than dealer stock, so you can keep servicing in your own hands.
For the charge air system between turbo and engine there are intercooler air hoses. The cooling side is covered by cooling fans and water pump sealing rings, and there is a PTO transmission sensor with connection cable and plug, plus a tank cap.
A tip on intercooler hoses. A small split in a hose between turbo and intercooler often shows up as a whistle at full throttle and darker exhaust smoke. With the engine cold, squeeze each hose all the way round. One that feels soft or oily on the inside will be the next to fail. When you replace a hose, clean all oil off the pipe ends and fit new clamps. A clamp that has been stretched once rarely holds boost pressure reliably, and the new hose can blow off.

The Puma series includes many models that look the same from outside, so always check the serial plate and note the chassis number. For an intercooler hose, compare the inner diameter at both ends and the length with the old hose. For a water pump sealing ring, measure the ring you take out. A reference number on the old part makes the comparison quicker.
