When the PTO on a New Holland T5.115 suddenly ignores the button, the fault is often not in the drive itself. This page lists more than 120 parts that fit the T5.115, from GRANIT and from brands such as Rockinger, Walterscheid, Sauermann and Scharmüller.
For the electronics there are PTO push button switches, transmission sensors at the PTO, gear switches, potentiometers, temperature sensors and differential pressure sensors. An alternator is available too.
If the PTO will not engage, start at the connectors. Unplug the button and the sensor, look for green corrosion or bent pins and treat them with contact spray. Only when the connectors are good is it worth replacing the switch or sensor. A potentiometer sending wrong readings often shows up as a control that responds in jerks.
Brake linings for the handbrake are available. After fitting them, adjust the handbrake again so it grips evenly on both sides and holds the tractor on a slope. Cylinders with seal kits, piston sealing rings and a tank cap with ventilation also fit the T5.115.
When a hydraulic cylinder leaks past the rod, a seal kit is often all it needs. Check the piston rod for scratches and pitting first, because a damaged rod will cut new seals to pieces in no time. Work as cleanly as you can, as a single grain of sand in the cylinder does the same damage.
That vent in the tank cap is easy to overlook. Once it blocks, a vacuum builds in the tank and the engine starts to stutter or stalls after a while, even with a full tank. If it runs normally again after you loosen the cap, you have found the cause.
At the rear there are automatic drawbars and a Piton Fix. Mirror arms keep the view behind the tractor clear.
Before swapping an alternator, check the belt and the charging cables. A slipping belt or a loose terminal lights the same charge warning as a failed regulator.
Begin with the serial number on the type plate. The T5.115 belongs to the T5 range from New Holland. Then compare the reference number on the old part with the product details. For sensors and switches, also check the connector shape and the number of pins.
