For cooling there are thermostats, radiator hoses and V-belts. When you replace the thermostat, fit a new housing gasket at the same time and squeeze each radiator hose while you are there. A hose that feels soft, swollen or rock hard is due for replacement. Refill the system slowly afterwards and let the engine warm up with the cap off so trapped air can escape.
On the fuel side you will find feed pumps, feed pump seals and lockable tank caps with a vent. For anyone opening up the engine there are piston ring sets, sealing rings, shims for the rocker gear and repair sets. The exhaust is covered by manifold and silencer gaskets.
For the lighting there are headlights and separate lenses, so a cracked lens does not mean replacing the whole lamp. The driver can choose from air suspended tractor seats, and at the rear there are drawbars, including one finished in John Deere green.
If the engine dies after running for a while, or starts badly after a cold night, the feed pump may be drawing air. Check the pump seal and the fuel lines for damp patches, and bleed the system with the hand primer after any work until no more bubbles appear. A tank cap with a blocked vent causes the same symptoms, because the tank pulls a vacuum and the pump can no longer draw diesel. Open the cap when the engine falters and see if that cures it. On a lockable cap the vent should stay clear even when it is locked.
Fitting new piston rings is another job where care pays off. Check the end gap of each ring in its bore, stagger the gaps around the piston and make sure the marking faces up.
