Need John Deere 5070M parts? With more than 400 items for this 5M series model the choice is wide, from electrics to trailer couplings and lighting.
Slow cranking, a charge warning light or a squeal from the front of the engine are some of the commonest complaints on a 5070M, and they usually point to the electrics or the belt drive. That is where a good share of the more than 400 parts on this page come in, with GRANIT next to names such as HELLA, Sauermann, MAHLE and Wabco.
Work lamps come as spotlights and in LED versions, and there are headlights for the left and right side. For the cab there are gas struts and tractor seats.
Starter motors, including gear reduction starters, sit alongside alternators and micro relays. A starter that occasionally refuses to engage is not always faulty itself. Check the battery terminals, the earth cable and the relay before you take it off. When matching a replacement, the direction of rotation and the number of teeth on the pinion are listed with the products.
Multi-rib belts are available on their own and as belt kits. Bear in mind that a 5070M with air conditioning runs a different belt from one without. Before removing the old belt, take a photo of how it is routed, and the new one will go on correctly at the first attempt.
For heavier trailers there are drawbars and connector heads for the air brake line. Around the engine you will find O-rings, for example for the master brake cylinder, gaskets such as the one for the air receiver, and bushes for the balancer shaft.
If one circuit suddenly stops working, a micro relay is a likely culprit. Swap it for an identical relay from another slot as a test. If the circuit comes back, you have found the fault without a meter. A flickering work lamp more often points to a corroded plug or cable than to the lamp itself.
The type plate tells you exactly which tractor you have. Alternators and starter motors usually carry a reference number on the housing, which you can compare with the details for each product.
The 5070M is one of the models in the John Deere 5M series. If you also look after another tractor from this series, its parts are on its own page:
The 5075M is part of the same series. For that model and the rest of the brand, go to the overview of John Deere parts.
