Keep your John Deere 4230 from the 30 series working with more than 140 parts that fit. The range covers lighting, engine parts, steering and front axle.
Many John Deere 4230 problems turn out to be small ones once you trace them. This page brings together more than 140 replacement parts for the 4230, from GRANIT, GRAMMER, AKS-Dasis, PROBOSS and HELLA, with a strong showing in fuel supply, electrics and the operator seat.
If your tractor runs fine at first and then loses power, start with the tank cap. A blocked vent creates a vacuum in the tank. Loosen the cap briefly. If air hisses in, you have found the cause. Vented tank caps, lockable ones included, are on this page. If the cap is fine, move on to the feed pump. Feed pumps and their seals are both available, and the seal should be renewed every time the pump comes off, otherwise it can draw air.
When a relay clicks but nothing happens, check the contacts in the holder before buying anything. Green corrosion on the pins causes faults that look exactly like a failed relay.
For the engine there are gaskets, for example for the manifold at the silencer, water pump shaft seals and Radiacord hoses. Ball joints take the slack out of the steering, and bolts such as the hood bolts are here too. In the cab you can fit an air suspended GRAMMER seat or a Maximo Professional seat, and mirror arms bring the view back.
Separate a ball joint with a proper splitter rather than hammering on the threaded end. Before unscrewing the old joint, count how many turns it sits on the track rod, so the toe-in comes out close after fitting the new one. Have the alignment checked afterwards all the same. If the brake light will not come on, or stays on, look at the brake light switch at the pedal and adjust the new one so the light comes on as soon as the pedal starts to move.
The rating plate confirms you have a 4230. Many parts for it carry a John Deere reference number, seals and shaft seals in particular. Read the number off the old part and compare it with the description on this page. When replacing a seat, measure the mounting holes of the old one as well.
From the same series, the John Deere 3030 has its own page with the parts that fit it. For the rest of the brand, head to John Deere parts.
