Trailer couplings, lighting and electrics top the list for the John Deere 5115M. Choose from more than 120 parts for this tractor from the 5M series.
The 5115M often heads out on the road with a trailer behind it, which means lights, mirrors and the air brake connection to the trailer all need to be in order. More than 120 John Deere 5115M parts are on this page, and the walk through them below follows the order of a quick check before you drive off.
For lighting there are left and right headlights with dipped and main beam, plus spotlight work lamps, several of them made by HELLA. Rear vision is covered by a rear-view mirror and wide-angle mirrors that clamp onto a rod. A cracked mirror glass seems minor, yet with a wide trailer behind you it is the only view you have of what follows.
At the coupling you will find connector heads for the supply line and a trailer control valve, which passes the brake pressure on to the trailer. For the hitch there are ball drawbars and a drawbar frame, with ROCKINGER, Walterscheid and Sauermann among the makers.
Tip for connector heads: a leaking head is often down to nothing more than a hardened or split rubber seal. If you hear hissing as you couple up, renew the seal or the complete head first, then check that the trailer brakes release properly.
If the trailer brakes late or pulls to one side, look for leaks at the connector heads and lines before replacing the trailer control valve. A little soapy water brushed over the joints shows a leak quickly.
Engine parts include a water pump, injectors with pressure pipes, O-rings for the fuel line and a bush for the balancer shafts. Connecting rod bolts are listed too. If you open an engine down to the rods, fit new bolts and tighten them with a torque wrench to the maker's values, as these bolts are not meant to be reused once they have been torqued. A simple plug for the hood rounds things off.
The type plate confirms the model and that it belongs to the 5M series. For an injector or water pump, the number stamped or cast into the old part is the quickest route to the correct replacement.
