Is a light on your John Deere 5125R out, or the trailer coupling worn? This page lists more than 60 parts for the 5R series tractor, electrics included.
Start early or finish late with a 5125R and you spend a good part of the day working under lights. That shows in the more than 60 parts for this model: LED work lights, headlights, rear lights, a number plate light, a beacon with a separate replacement cover and spherical bulbs. HELLA is a familiar name here, alongside GRANIT, Walterscheid, MAHLE and FEBI.
An LED work light draws little current and copes with vibration, which a halogen lamp on a tractor often does not survive for long. Fit a new light with a sound earth connection and angle it slightly downwards, so you light up the job rather than dazzling oncoming traffic. If only the beacon cover has cracked, the replacement cover is all you need.
For starting there are gear reduction starters. Around the engine you will find connecting rod bolts, camshaft bushes, the oil cooler housing seal and O-rings, such as the one for the fuel line.
One firm rule with connecting rod bolts: never reuse them. They are tightened into their yield range, and a second time round they no longer hold the bearing cap reliably. Torque new bolts to the workshop manual, using a torque wrench and the specified angle where one is given.
At the rear there is a drawbar with ball and a Walterscheid ball hitch. For visibility alongside the tractor there is a wide-angle mirror.
On the road, the smaller lights count too. A dead number plate light or a rear light with moisture inside often goes unnoticed until someone points it out. Replace a misted rear light as a complete unit, because once moisture is in, it rarely stays out for good. With the wide-angle mirror, pay attention to the bracket, which needs to be firm enough not to shake on a bumpy track.
If oil appears around the oil cooler housing, clean the area first and run the engine briefly. That shows where the oil is really coming from, since it runs down the block and often gives away a leak in the wrong place.
The type plate gives the model and serial number, and those details decide things when a part exists in more than one version. For lights, check the mounting and the plug. For engine parts, use the reference number on the old part or its packaging.
From the 5R series, these two tractors have their own page as well:
Handy if there is more than one 5R in the shed. For the rest of the green and yellow fleet, start from John Deere parts and pick your model there.
