Lighting, electrics and trailer couplings for the John Deere 6230R are collected here, with more than 60 parts in total for this 6R series model.
The John Deere 6230R from the 6R range carries plenty of electronics and an air system for the trailer brakes, yet day to day upkeep still comes down to familiar items: filters, belts, lights and a sound drawbar. This page lists more than 60 parts that fit the 6230R, from GRANIT and from brands such as Scharmüller, Walterscheid, INA and FEBI.
The air dryer takes moisture out of the compressed air before it reaches the trailer brakes. A saturated cartridge lets water through, which means frozen valves in winter and corroded lines over time. Replace the cartridge according to the service schedule and drain the air tanks in between. If water comes out when you drain them, the dryer is due.
The cab filter is easy to forget too. Do not blow out a paper filter with compressed air from the inside, as that tears the paper and the dust simply ends up in the cab afterwards. A fresh filter keeps out fine dust and pollen and lets the air conditioning do its job. Lay a cloth in the filter housing while you swap it so loosened dirt does not drop into the air ducts.
Check the type plate and compare the reference number on the old part. With belt kits and filler caps, the version often already tells you which range they are meant for. The 6230R is not the only 6R with its own page. Parts for the John Deere 6130R, John Deere 6155R, John Deere 6175R, John Deere 6195R, John Deere 6215R and John Deere 6250R each have a dedicated page as well. The John Deere 6125R and 6150R also belong to this range. Parts for a John Deere outside this range start at John Deere parts.
One more tip on the work lights: when an LED lamp flickers or cuts out, check the plug and the cable before blaming the lamp. On a 6R the lights sit high on the cab and the wiring runs past hinged panels, so a kinked or chafed wire is more often the culprit than the lamp itself. A dab of dielectric grease on the plug keeps moisture out.
