Working on a John Deere 7700 from the 7000 series? More than 450 matching parts are listed here, including lighting, electrics and trailer couplings.
Plenty of John Deere 7700 tractors are still working every day, and with that come the familiar jobs: a PTO that starts to slip, a thermostat that sticks, or air conditioning that gives up in the summer heat. This page brings together more than 450 new replacement parts for this tractor, from makers including GRANIT, HELLA, ROCKINGER, Wabco and MAHLE.
For the PTO clutch there are internal and external plates. Always replace them as a set and measure the thickness of the old pack, so you can see how much has worn away. One tip that often gets skipped: soak new friction plates in the correct oil for a while before fitting. Plates installed dry can grab too hard in the first hours and burn. Bushes and sealing rings for the same assembly are here as well.
A thermostat that no longer opens properly lets the engine run hot, while one stuck open keeps it too cold. Always renew the gasket with it and check the coolant while you are at it. For the turbocharger there is, among other things, a gasket for the oil return line, plus seals for the rear of the engine. The aircon compressor is a job of its own: after replacement the system has to be evacuated and recharged by someone with the right equipment.
There are alternators, LED work lights with a flood beam and headlights for left and right. In the cab, air-suspended tractor seats with fabric upholstery will fit. At the rear you will find drawbar frames, and for trailers with forced steering the matching parts.
If one headlight suddenly looks dimmer than the other, inspect the reflector and the lens. A dull or burnt reflector will not improve with a new bulb, and a complete headlight is then the better choice.
Start at the type plate and note the tractor's serial number. Your second reference point is the old part: clutch plates, thermostats and alternators usually carry a reference number or the maker's marking. Compare that with the product details and you will soon know whether it fits.
In the John Deere line-up, this 7700 sits within the 7000 range. If you also run a John Deere 7200, John Deere 7600 or John Deere 7800, each of those has its own page of matching John Deere parts. Other John Deere models are gathered on John Deere parts.
