The fan clutch, thermostats, thermostat gaskets and engine sensors are all listed here. To test the fan clutch, turn the fan by hand with the engine cold and stopped. A healthy unit drags slightly against your hand. If it spins on freely or is locked solid, the clutch is no longer doing its job and the engine will run hot under heavy draft work.
For the cab there is an aircon compressor. When the old one has failed, flush the system before fitting the new compressor, otherwise debris can damage it. Make sure the correct amount of compressor oil is in the system as well.
The hand pump is useful for bleeding the fuel system after a filter change. Pump until you feel clearly more resistance and only close the bleed screw once diesel comes out without bubbles. Always fit a thermostat with a new gasket, scrape off old gasket material carefully, and top up the coolant once the engine has warmed up and the thermostat has opened.
For night work there are HELLA LED work lights, which draw less current than halogen and cope well with vibration. The driver can choose an air suspended fabric tractor seat or a GRAMMER Maximo seat.
At the rear you can replace the inner part of the drawbar and the drawbar frame. Wabco coupling heads keep the air line to the trailer sealed. Always close the covers after uncoupling so sand stays out of the coupling. You will also find a hand pump, a PTO shaft end, gaskets for the exhaust gas recirculation valve, seals and sealing rings.
Check the type plate to confirm it is an 8300. A fan clutch or aircon compressor almost always carries a reference number. Compare it with the number given on the product, and with the compressor check the pulley and connector.
