John Deere 6010 parts

More than 450 replacement parts fit the John Deere 6010, from a small O-ring for the oil pump to a complete tractor seat. Here is how they break down across the tractor.

Engine, cooling and electrics

For the engine there are thermostats and thermostat housing gaskets, O-rings and seals for the oil circuit, hoses and bushes. The electrical side includes starter motors, alternators and micro relays.

A slow cranking starter is not always a starter problem. Check the battery and the earth cable first, because a new starter on a corroded earth will turn just as slowly. If you only hear a click, look at the relay and the supply before anything else.

Plates for the PTO and front axle

Internal plates for the PTO clutch and external plates for the front axle are on this page too. When the PTO slips under load or the front axle lock no longer holds, replace the complete pack rather than just the worst plates. Soak new plates in the specified oil for a while before fitting them, as dry plates can burn on first engagement.

Seats and hitching

  • tractor seats and seat cushions, partly from GRAMMER
  • drawbar balls and automatic drawbars
  • forced steering parts from Scharmüller and Walterscheid
  • further parts from HELLA and GRANIT

Whenever the thermostat comes out, fit a new housing gasket and scrape the mating faces clean. Old gasket residue causes leaks even with a fresh gasket. Bleed the cooling system carefully afterwards, because an air pocket at the thermostat makes it open late. A hose that feels soft or swollen is worth replacing at the same time, so you do not have to drain the coolant again shortly after.

Check the forced steering ball and its socket for play from time to time. A little grease prevents it from running dry and wearing unevenly. A worn drawbar ball shows itself through knocks when pulling away and braking.

Getting the right fit for your 6010

The 6010 also exists as the 6010SE, and the identification plate tells you which one you have. For clutch plates, compare the number on an old plate. Starters and alternators carry a label on the housing with a reference number to check against.
