The John Deere 8285R from the 8R/8RT series has its own page with more than 200 parts. You will find trailer couplings, lighting and electrics here.
A 8285R puts in long hours, often with heavy trailers behind it and well into the night in the field. The parts on this page reflect that: more than 200 John Deere 8285R parts, from lighting and air brake components to sensors, the starter and the air conditioning compressor.
Manufacturers include GRANIT, Sauermann, HELLA, ROCKINGER and Scharmüller.
If the old air conditioning compressor seized, it has almost certainly sent debris round the system. Have the receiver drier replaced and the circuit flushed when the new one goes in, otherwise it will not last long. Evacuating and recharging is a job for a certified air conditioning workshop. The same care applies to the trailer control valve, which is a safety part: after fitting one, have the trailer braking checked so it brakes in time and evenly.
Work lamps take a beating from vibration and the pressure washer. If an LED work light cuts out now and then, look at the plug first. Moisture in a connector leaves green deposits and an intermittent contact. A dab of contact grease prevents that, and keep the lance well away from lamps and plugs when washing.
Read the type plate to confirm you have a 8285R. The tractor belongs to the 8R/8RT range, yet parts are still matched model by model. The reference number on the old part, whether on a sensor or on the starter housing, is the quickest way to pin down exactly what you need. For ball joints, check the play before ordering by having someone rock the steering wheel while you watch the joint.
If you run several 8R tractors, every model has its own overview so you can see what fits without guessing: John Deere 8370R, John Deere 8345R, John Deere 8320R, John Deere 8310R, John Deere 8295R and John Deere 8335R. The 8360R and 8260R are part of the same range. Older and smaller tractors from the brand are on John Deere parts.
