Servicing a John Deere 8360R? This 8R/8RT series page brings together more than 200 parts, such as trailer couplings, lighting and electrics for the tractor.
Long days behind heavy equipment put the cab, the lighting and the electrics of a John Deere 8360R to work. This page gathers more than 200 replacement parts that fit the tractor, from GRANIT, Sauermann, HELLA, ROCKINGER, Scharmüller and other makers.
For work after dark there are LED work lights, oval halogen work lamps and beacons for the cab roof. Before replacing a lamp that flickers, look at the connector. Green corrosion on the pins is a common cause, and a new lamp will not cure it.
There is an aircon compressor for the cab, plus seals for the door hinges and pull handles. When the compressor is replaced, renew the receiver drier too and fill the correct amount of oil. Dirt or moisture left in the system will otherwise shorten the life of the new compressor. If the air conditioning is merely weak, have the refrigerant level checked before blaming the compressor.
Sensors keep an eye on the engine of the 8360R. Oil pressure sensors and inlet manifold temperature sensors are listed, along with fuel line O-rings and a gear reduction starter.
If the dashboard warns of low oil pressure while the oil level is fine, check the sensor and its plug before looking further. Never change a sensor on a hot engine. Let the oil cool, keep a rag ready and tighten the new sensor with feeling, because the thread in the block is less forgiving than the one on the sensor.
At the rear you will find drawbars with a ball, drawbar frames and adapter plates. For trailers with forced steering there are inner parts for that steering. Connector heads and trailer control valves cover the air brake connection. A trailer control valve that leaks often gives itself away as a faint hiss with the tractor parked and the engine off.
Begin with the type plate, which confirms the tractor is an 8360R. A reference number on the old part is then your best guide. Compare it with the parts on this page before you order, particularly with sensors, where thread sizes differ.
Other tractors in the John Deere 8R/8RT series also have their own page, which helps if there is more than one on the farm:
The 8260R and 8285R are part of the same series. For the rest of the brand, see the John Deere parts overview.
