An injector, a tank cap and exhaust seals cover the engine, along with starter motors. When fitting an injector, always renew the copper sealing washer underneath and clean the seat thoroughly. An old washer leaks compression, which shows up as black deposits around the injector body.
For the cooling system there is a water pump and seals for the water pump. The belt drive is served by a V-belt tensioner and an idler pulley, and the crankshaft carries a vibration damper.
If you are changing the water pump, spin the tensioner and idler by hand while they are exposed. Rough bearings or play are reason enough to replace them in the same job.
For hitching there are drawbars, Piton Fix parts, top drawbars and trailer couplings, plus a part for trailers with forced steering. On the mudguards you will find fender brackets and springs. A bracket shaken loose looks like a small thing, but a mudguard that starts to vibrate will crack at its mounting sooner or later, so replace bracket and spring together.
The vibration damper on the crankshaft is an inner and an outer ring with rubber bonded between them. Paint a line across both rings. If the line drifts out of alignment over time, or you see cracks and rubber squeezing out, the damper has stopped doing its job, and the vibration ends up in the crankshaft instead.
If the starter spins the engine briskly but it will not fire, look at fuel and the injector before you suspect the starter. If you only hear a click, check the battery and cables first.
Check the type plate to be sure you are dealing with a 5080 D. Starter motors, water pumps and injectors usually carry a reference number, which you can set against the product details. For drawbars and the top drawbar, measure the rail width on your tractor before ordering.
