Trailer couplings, electrics and lighting are three of the groups covered by more than 250 parts for the Deutz-Fahr AgroStar 4.71 from the AgroStar series.
When an AgroStar 4.71 comes in for an engine overhaul or a big service, you want everything on the bench in one go. This page lists more than 250 replacement parts that fit it, from GRANIT, HELLA, ROCKINGER, VICTOR REINZ and MAHLE.
For the wet cylinder liners there are liner shims. They set how far each liner stands proud of the block, and so whether the head gasket seals. After fitting the liners, measure the protrusion at several points around each one with a dial gauge and choose shims so every liner falls inside the specified range. A liner that sits too low soon leads to a leaking head gasket.
Also here are crankshaft seals, sealing rings for the lift shaft, gaskets for the exhaust and other joints, and seals for the hydraulic pump. On the fuel side there are repair sets for the feed pump.
Oil the lip lightly before fitting and drive the seal in square with a suitable drift. If the old lip has worn a track into the shaft, set the new seal slightly further in or out so it runs on a fresh surface.
If the AgroStar pulls to one side under braking, or one wheel runs warmer than the other after a trip, a piston is often sticking in the caliper. Clean the guides when replacing it, use new sealing washers at the brake line union and bleed the brakes carefully afterwards. Always replace calipers on an axle in pairs so braking stays even. A repair set seals the feed pump again without replacing the whole pump.
Start with the rating plate and confirm it says AgroStar 4.71. VICTOR REINZ gaskets and MAHLE parts usually carry their own number on the packaging or on the part, as do many crankshaft seals. Take the number from the old part and compare it with the description on this page. For a clutch plate, count the splines in the hub.
These AgroStar tractors each have their own page:
