The right parts keep a Deutz D 6007 from the 07 series running. This page offers more than 200 of them, such as trailer couplings, electrics and lighting.
Opening up a Deutz D 6007 for an engine rebuild or a new clutch goes smoothly only when every part is ready on the bench. This page lists more than 200 parts for the D 6007, from GRANIT and from brands including HELLA, LUK, Walterscheid and VICTOR REINZ.
For the clutch there are double clutch units and thrust bearings for the driving clutch. A thrust bearing that sings when you press the pedal is best replaced together with the clutch, since the tractor has to be split for either job anyway.
For the engine you will find piston ring sets, crankshaft seals, shims for the cylinder liners and exhaust gaskets, enough to sort out an engine that leaks or burns oil in one go.
Check the ring gap on new piston rings first. Push the ring squarely into the bore and measure the gap with a feeler gauge. Then fit the rings to the piston with the gaps staggered so they never line up. The shims under each cylinder liner set how far the liner stands proud of the block. Measure that protrusion and use the same thickness that came out, otherwise the head gasket will not seal properly.
With a new crankshaft seal, look closely at the running surface on the shaft. If the old seal has worn a groove, press the new one in slightly deeper or shallower so the lip runs on clean metal. Oil the lip lightly and drive the seal in squarely, since a seal that sits crooked leaks from day one.
For the linkage there are sealing rings for the lift shaft and bushes for the lift arms. A lift arm that visibly rocks on its shaft usually has worn bushes, and the seal next to them has suffered from the play too, so replace both. The D 6007 is also covered with starter motors, alternators, tension springs, bolt sets for the steering valve, lamp lenses, a lockable tank cap with ventilation and a drawbar.
That lockable tank cap earns its place on a tractor parked outside or in an open yard. The vent prevents a vacuum in the tank, and the lock keeps uninvited visitors away from the diesel.
Write down the serial number from the type plate and also the engine number, which adds certainty for engine parts. The D 6007 belongs to the 07 series from Deutz. Compare the reference number on the old part with the product details, and for piston rings also measure the bore.
From the same series, the Deutz D 6207, Deutz D 6807 and Deutz D 7007 have pages of their own, useful when more than one Deutz lives in the shed. The complete range for the brand is under Deutz-Fahr parts.
