Cylinder head gaskets for the 6.45 come in different thicknesses, and the right one depends on how far the pistons stand above the block. Look at the old gasket first, as the thickness is often shown by notches or holes along the edge. If the block has been machined or you are unsure, measure piston protrusion with a dial gauge before ordering. Too thin and the pistons can touch the head, too thick and you lose compression.
Elsewhere on the engine there are intake manifold gaskets and V-belts. When changing a belt, check the tensioner and pulleys for wear while you are there.
When fitting a halogen bulb in a work lamp, keep your fingers off the glass. Skin oil makes that spot run too hot and the bulb fails early. Check the rubber seal on the lamp housing too, as moisture in the reflector dulls the beam. Set a wide-angle mirror while sitting in your normal driving position, so you can see the rear wheels and the lane beside you.
For towing there are drawbars, top drawbars, adapter plates and Piton Fix pins. Ball joints keep the steering tight. Play in a joint shows up on the road as constant small corrections at the wheel, so replace it promptly and have the tracking checked.
A drawbar or adapter plate only fits when rail width and hole pattern match the tractor, so measure both first. Torque the adapter plate bolts correctly and check them again after the first hours with a heavy trailer.
