A Hitech series tractor known under two names: the Valtra 8950 and the Valmet 8950. Either way, more than 130 parts fit it, from steering to lighting.
On plenty of farms it still goes by Valmet 8950, and that is the same tractor from the Hitech range. This page brings together more than 130 Valtra 8950 parts, from GRANIT and from makers such as Scharmüller, Walterscheid, DANA Spicer and MAHLE.
For the brakes there are brake discs. Replace them as a set per axle, and when the housing is open look at the intermediate plates and at the oil in the brake housing as well. Burnt oil or metal particles tell you how hard the old discs have been working. For the differential there are O-rings, and a complete seal kit helps when a housing is weeping in several places.
Engine work covers a valve cover gasket, seals for the valve cover bolts, a thermostat and a water pump gasket. A tip for the valve cover: tighten the bolts in a crosswise pattern and with feel. Overtightening pushes the gasket out of shape, and the cover then leaks worse than before. A bolt set comes in handy when the old bolts are stretched or corroded.
If the door no longer latches properly, there is a left-hand door lock. For lighting there are work lamps, indicator and position lights and a flasher unit. At the rear you will find a drawbar ball and separate balls. Ball joints for the steering complete the list, and if you hear a click at the front axle when rocking the steering wheel, they are the first suspects.
With a thermostat, never reuse the gasket or seal. Scrape the housing face clean without scoring it, and refill the cooling system slowly after fitting so no air pocket gets trapped behind the thermostat. An air pocket can push the temperature up even though the new thermostat works perfectly.
Whether the bonnet says Valtra or Valmet, the type plate settles the exact model. Next, the number on the part you removed is what counts, matched against the reference number for the product. With brake discs, lay the old disc next to the new one and compare the teeth.
More tractors from the Hitech range have a page of their own. If one of them works alongside your 8950, its matching parts are there:
