You may know the Valtra 8550 from the Mega series as the Valmet 8550. More than 140 parts fit, from steering and front axle to trailer couplings and lighting.
Some of these tractors carry the Valmet name, others say Valtra, but a Valmet 8550 and a Valtra 8550 are the same machine. This page brings together more than 140 Valtra 8550 parts, so whichever badge yours wears, you are in the right place.
Always fit a new thermostat with a new gasket. A gasket that has already been compressed will not seal properly and soon starts to weep. Bleed the cooling system carefully after refilling and top up once the engine has warmed up and cooled down again.
Changing a ball joint almost always upsets the toe-in. Count the turns as you unscrew the old joint, screw the new one in by the same number and then have the alignment checked. It saves a lot of tyre wear.
If the indicators flash too fast or not at all while the bulbs are fine, the flasher unit is the first thing to suspect.
When the clutch plate comes out, inspect the flywheel too. Grooves, blue spots or fine cracks in the friction face make a new plate wear faster or judder when pulling away, so have it skimmed if needed. A stiff stop cable can sometimes be freed with a little oil, but if the outer sheath is cracked, moisture will keep getting in and a new cable is the better fix. On the valve cover seal, tighten the bolts evenly and not too hard, or you squeeze the seal out of shape.
With two names in circulation, the identification plate and serial number are your most reliable guide. For engine and clutch parts, compare the reference number on the part you removed.
