A dead work light or electrics playing up on a Valtra T 153? This T3 series tractor has more than 110 parts listed here, from lighting to trailer couplings.
When the temperature gauge on a T 153 starts to creep up during summer cultivation, the cooling system is where the hunt begins, so that is where this page starts too. Altogether there are more than 110 parts here for this Valtra from the T3 line, from makers such as GRANIT, Scharmüller, DANA Spicer, Walterscheid and BOSCH.
The cooling circuit is covered by thermostats, a top radiator hose, a cooling fan and a fan clutch. A temperature sensor for the common rail Sisu engine tells the engine control unit how hot the coolant is. Tensioning pulleys keep the belt tight, and a fresh water pump gasket stops seepage at the pump.
When you change the thermostat, always fit a new gasket or O-ring, clean the mating face properly and bleed the system afterwards with the engine idling and the heater open. An air pocket around the sensor gives false readings, and you end up chasing a fault that is not there.
The fan clutch deserves attention too. If the fan turns just as freely by hand with a hot engine as with a cold one, the clutch is no longer engaging and the radiator gets too little air. Oil traces around the hub point the same way. A tensioning pulley that hums or has play is best replaced together with the belt.
There is also a gasket for the silencer at the turbocharger, a seal for the lubrication line and O-rings, including one for the oil filler cap. If the turbo weeps oil at its lubrication line, change both seals on that line together.
Headlights, LED headlights and work lamps fit as well, along with a cab door lock and drawbars with a ball. Separate balls are available for when only the head of a ball hitch has worn.
The type plate on the T 153 shows the type and chassis number. For hoses and sensors that is usually enough to confirm the fit. For a gasket or thermostat, read the number off the old part, since thermostats differ in opening temperature and that has to suit your engine.
From the same T3 line, these types each have their own page: Valtra T 163, Valtra T 203 and Valtra T 213. If one of those bigger siblings works on your farm, order its parts from that page. Other Valtra tractors and the older Valmet models are reachable via Valtra parts.
