We have lined up more than 160 parts for the Valtra T 160 from the T series. Trailer couplings, electrics and lighting are easy to find by product group.
On a Valtra T 160 the hardest working parts sit around the engine. That is why a reman turbocharger, water pumps, thermostats and gaskets are among the more than 160 parts that fit this tractor, together with cab parts, lighting and a drawbar. They are supplied by GRANIT, Scharmüller, DANA Spicer, Walterscheid and GRAMMER.
Besides the turbo there are hose elbows running to the intercooler. A replacement turbo lasts longest if you prime it with clean engine oil before the first start and check the oil feed pipe for dirt or kinks. Let the engine idle for a while before putting it under load. Check the intercooler hoses at the same time, as a split hose makes the turbo work harder than it needs to.
When you fit a new thermostat, always use a new gasket and bleed the cooling system after filling. An air pocket around the thermostat will otherwise make the temperature gauge wander.
A water pump often announces its end with a few drops from the weep hole or a bearing that starts to whine. Do not leave it too long, as a seizing pump can throw the belt. Fit a new gasket with the new pump and refill the system with fresh coolant of the correct type.
For the cab there are door locks, air suspended tractor seats, headlights, work lamps and a flasher unit. At the back, a drawbar with ball for the hitch rail fits.
A sticky door lock can sometimes be freed with a little penetrating oil, but once the latch no longer catches, a new lock is the safe choice. A door swinging open on the move is dangerous and gets damaged itself. If the indicators flash too fast or not at all, check the bulbs and the earth before replacing the flasher unit.
Check the type plate to confirm it is a T 160. On a turbocharger or water pump the number is usually on a tag or cast into the housing, so compare it with the product details first. For a door lock, check if the left or the right one has failed.
