A Valtra S 274 needs parts that truly fit. This page lists more than 70 parts for this S4 series model, such as trailer couplings, electrics and engine parts.
A Valtra S 274 spends much of its life pulling heavy trailers on the road, and the parts on this page reflect that: coupling hardware at the rear, fender mountings and sensors in the exhaust. This page lists more than 70 parts that fit the S 274, from GRANIT and from makers such as Scharmüller, Walterscheid, SACHS and Denso.
For the rear there are drawbars, base plates, screw-on ball adapters and a swinging drawbar for retrofitting. You will also find forced steering parts, such as an insert for the pick-up hitch. A practical point for screw-on balls: tighten them to the specified torque and recheck the locking after the first few days behind a heavy trailer. A ball that works even slightly loose will chew up its thread in no time.
The steering fenders on the S 274 hang from fender brackets, pivots and springs. When a fender starts rattling or no longer springs back, a stretched spring or a worn pivot is usually behind it. Both are sold separately for left and right, as are the brackets. Give the pivot a light coat of grease on assembly so it follows the wheels smoothly.
Around the engine there are temperature sensors, a NOX sensor for the exhaust aftertreatment, a belt tensioner, a signal transmitter and a vented tank cap, along with seals and O-rings. Only remove a NOX sensor once the exhaust has cooled, and keep the connector clean and dry when you plug it back in. A belt tensioner that whines or visibly wobbles should be changed before the belt comes off.
A vented tank cap looks like a simple item, yet if the valve clogs, a vacuum builds up in the tank. The engine is then starved of fuel and loses pulling power for no obvious reason, so swap a cap whose valve sticks or whose rubber has split.
Read the type plate first so you know for certain it is an S 274. Then match the number on the old part with the reference number given for the product. With hitch parts, also take into account the system already fitted to the tractor, since not every ball or piton suits every base plate.
From the same S range, the Valtra S 374 has a separate page too, handy if one is parked next to the S 274. For any other Valtra tractor on the farm, start from Valtra parts.
