Brakes, transmission, electrics or a trailer coupling for the Valtra T 154: this page covers the T4 series with more than 60 parts to pick from.
A fault code on the dashboard of a Valtra T 154 often points to one of the many sensors on the engine. This page lists more than 60 replacement parts for the T 154, and that sensor side is well represented, next to cooling, exhaust and hitching parts.
BOSCH supplies part of the sensor range. Before replacing a sensor, check its plug and wiring. A corroded or loose connector produces the same fault code as a failed sensor and costs far less to put right.
Replacing the radiator hose is a good moment to fit new hose clamps too. Drain the coolant into a clean container so you can see its condition. If it looks brown or cloudy, flush the system before refilling.
For the rear of the tractor there are drawbars, including a manual ball type, screw ball adapters, inserts for forced steering through the Pick-Up Hitch, support plates and adapter plates. Scharmüller, Walterscheid and GRANIT make these, while Wabco covers the air system. A lockable fuel cap is useful on a tractor that is often left in the field.
A belt tensioner usually announces itself with squealing or rattling before it fails. With the belt off, spin the pulley by hand. If it feels rough or has play, replace it together with the belt.
When renewing the silencer gasket at the turbocharger, soak the nuts and studs in penetrating oil the night before. Seized studs on the hot side snap easily, which turns a short job into a long one.
Remove the NOx sensor with the exhaust cooled down and use a slotted socket so the cable is not damaged. Put a little high temperature paste on the thread of the new sensor unless it already has some.
Start with the identification plate on your Valtra for the type and serial number. Sensors often look alike from the outside, so the reference number on the old part is the safest check. For hitch parts, measure the rail and pin first.
Other tractors from the same T range have their own pages:
Older Valmet tractors and the rest of the make can be found under Valtra parts.
