Valtra 700 parts

Older examples still say Valmet 700 on the type plate, later ones Valtra 700. As far as parts go, it is the same tractor. This page lists more than 100 parts matched to it, from GRANIT and from DANA Spicer, Walterscheid, MAHLE and LUK.

Engine work

A leaking water pump does not have to mean a whole new pump. A water pump repair kit replaces the bearing and seal while the housing stays in place. You will also find valve cover gaskets, connecting rod bolts, a crankshaft seal, a gasket between the silencer and the turbocharger, and seals for the feed pump.

A word on the crankshaft seal. Before fitting the new one, look closely at the shaft. The old seal has often worn a fine groove into the running surface, and if the new lip sits right in that track it will soon leak again. Either set the seal slightly deeper or shallower, or restore the surface with a repair sleeve. Lightly oil the lip and drive the seal in squarely with a suitable drift.

Cab, lights and hitch

• A door lock for the cab.
• Work lamps and indicator position lights.

• An air conditioning compressor.
• Ball joints for the steering, a ball-type drawbar and a bolt set for the second spool valve.

Connecting rod bolts and the valve cover

If the engine is opened up for new bearings, fit new connecting rod bolts. They are tightened into their stretch range and cannot be trusted a second time. Tighten them in stages, first to torque and then through a set angle, as the workshop data specifies. Lay a valve cover gasket on a clean face without any trace of grease and tighten the bolts in a cross pattern without overdoing it. Overtightened, the gasket squeezes out at the sides and the cover weeps as badly as before. While the cover is off, check the breather, since a blocked one pushes oil past every seal.

Getting the right part for a Valmet 700

The type plate confirms you have a 700 and not an 800 or 900. If you still have the old part, copy the number on it. On engine parts it is usually stamped into the edge, on electrical parts it sits on a label or in the housing. Compare that reference number with the product details. For the door lock and ball joints, make sure you pick the correct side.
