Valtra 705 or Valmet 705, this page covers both names. Browse more than 60 parts, including electrics, lighting and components for steering and front axle.
Many of these tractors still wear Valmet on the bonnet, while parts lists often call the same machine the Valtra 705. It is one and the same type. This page has more than 60 replacement parts for the 705, from GRANIT, MAHLE, VDO, Cobo and HELLA.
If the engine is slow to fire or dies under load, the feed pump is a sensible place to start. There are feed pumps and separate feed pump seals. A leaking seal draws in air, which means bleeding the system again after every stop. The stop cable is here as well: one that drags or no longer springs back fully can keep the engine from shutting off cleanly.
For starting and charging there are starter motors, alternators and connection cables. On the engine itself you will find a rear crankshaft seal, radiator hoses and a coolant temperature sensor, so the gauge reads correctly again.
For the brakes there are wheel brake cylinders and repair kits for the brake cylinder. A repair kit makes sense as long as the bore is smooth. Once pitting or rust shows inside, a complete new cylinder is the better choice. The clutch side has a clutch plate, and for the steering there are ball joints.
The electrical parts also include a flasher unit with holder and a headlight.
Oil at the bottom between engine and clutch housing may well come from the rear crankshaft seal. Replace it while the clutch is out anyway, when it is only a small extra job. Check the running surface on the crankshaft: if there is a groove, set the new seal slightly deeper or shallower so the lip runs on a clean surface. Oil the lip lightly with engine oil and press the seal in straight and evenly. A seal fitted at an angle soon leaks again, and the oil ends up on your new clutch plate.
The type plate tells you whether the tractor is a 705, sometimes still under the Valmet name. Then compare the number on the old part with the description on this page. For a stop cable, measure the length of the old one, and for a radiator hose note whether it is the upper or lower.
The 705 belongs to the 05 series from Valtra and Valmet. The other types in that series each have their own page:
