Hitch, electrics or brakes on your Valtra N 174 need attention? Choose from more than 50 parts that fit this N4 series model, including brake and gearbox parts.
An exhaust warning on the display, a temperature gauge behaving oddly or a damp patch around the fuel connections. Those are the complaints that bring a Valtra N 174 into the workshop again and again. On this page you will find more than 50 new parts that fit the N 174, from GRANIT, Scharmüller, Walterscheid, Wabco and SACHS.
For the engine electronics there are temperature sensors and NOX sensors. The fuel side is covered by a pressure pipe, a return line and seals for the pressure pipe, together with a lockable fuel cap for anyone who leaves the tractor out in the field overnight. In the cooling circuit you will find radiator hoses, including the bottom hose.
When working on the fuel lines, cap every open connection straight away with a clean cap or a piece of plastic film and a rubber band. A single grain of sand in a pressure pipe ends up at the injectors. Clean around a union with brake cleaner before you undo it, and renew the seals whenever you refit a line.
A NOX sensor also needs a careful hand. Undo it while the exhaust is still hand-warm and spray a little penetrating oil on the thread beforehand. When refitting, route the cable along the old clips and away from hot parts, because a cable rubbing on the exhaust soon causes the next fault.
There is work at the back as well. You can choose from drawbar balls, a ball hitch, screw-on ball adapters, pick-up hitch inserts, a support plate and a Piton Fix. For trailers with a steered axle, forced steering parts are included. A rear-view mirror completes the list, so you can actually see that trailer.
Read the exact model off the type plate, because within the N range the tractors look very much alike. For sensors and lines, the reference number on the old part is the surest clue. If the number on a sensor can no longer be read, compare the plug shape and thread with the photo of the product.
The N 174 shares the N4 range with three other Valtra models. Each has its own page with the parts that fit it, so with a mixed fleet you can check tractor by tractor:
