More than 110 parts fit the Valtra N 143 and they are all on this page. Think of trailer couplings, electrics and steering and front axle parts, for example.
When a Valtra N 143 starts running hot under load on a summer day, the cause is often a small part of the cooling system. This page lists more than 110 parts that fit the N 143, supplied by GRANIT and by brands including DANA Spicer, Scharmüller, Walterscheid and BOSCH.
Cooling parts for this tractor include thermostats, temperature sensors for common rail Sisu engines, a fan clutch and an electric cooling fan. They work as a team, so when temperature becomes a problem it pays to check them together instead of swapping a single part on a hunch.
A fan clutch is easy to test. With the engine cold, the fan should turn by hand with slight resistance. If it still spins just as freely once the engine is warm, the clutch is no longer engaging. A thermostat can be tested in a pan of water with a thermometer, so you can see at what temperature it opens.
Remanufactured turbochargers, gear reduction starters, seals for pressure pipes and O-rings for the oil filler cap fit the N 143 as well. Never run a turbo dry on start up. Prime it through the oil feed with clean engine oil before fitting, and make sure the intake side is clean.
When a turbo has failed, always track down why. A dirty air filter, stretched oil change intervals or a leaking intake hose will otherwise destroy the new unit in short order.
For the drivetrain there are gear wheels and differential bevel gears. Door locks fit the cab, and flood beam work lamps help with night work. At the rear you will find ball drawbars, separate ball inserts and adapter plates.
A ball that has worn oval gives a hard knock through the hitch when pulling away or braking. Replacing just the ball insert is less work than a complete drawbar, provided the rail and frame are still sound. When a differential bevel gear is worn, look at the neighbouring gears and thrust washers too, since they have carried the same load.
Use the serial number on the type plate as the basis. The N 143 is part of the N3 range from Valtra. To be completely sure, compare the reference number on the old part with the product details. For a thermostat, also check the opening temperature marked on the old one. For the fan clutch, compare the model designation on the plate with the tractor models named on the product.
Parts for other tractors in the range are on their own pages: Valtra N 103, Valtra N 113, Valtra N 123 and Valtra N 163. The full range for the brand is under Valtra parts.
